Government Bond Auction Result on January 24th, 2024

On January 24th, 2024, the State Treasury called for bidding a total of VND 8,500 billion of Government bonds, including 5-year bonds (VND 2,000 billion), 10-year (VND 2,000 billion), 15-year (VND 2,000 billion), 20-year (VND 1,000 billion), and 30-year (VND 1,500 billion). 10-year, 20-year and 30-year bonds were sold out. The winning value of 5-year and 15-year bonds was VND 1,634 billion and VND 1,110 billion, respectively.
The winning interest rate for 5-year tenors declined by 2 bps to 1.37%. Meanwhile the winning rate for both 10-year and 15-year tenors gained by 3 bps to 2.23% and 2.43%, respectively. Besides, the winning rate for 30-year bonds remained unchanged at 2.85%.

Year to date, the State Treasury issued VND 16,502 billion of Government bonds across various tenors from 5 to 30 years, completing about 13% of the Q1.2024 plan of VND 127,000 billion.
The winning value of 10 and 15-year bonds are the largest with VND 5,786 and VND 4,266 billion issued, respectively, accounting for about 61% of the total value issued since the beginning of 2024. 5-year bonds come in third with VND 3,400 billion.
