Government Bond Auction Result on January 17th, 2024

On January 17th, 2024, the State Treasury called for bidding a total of VND 8,250 billion of Government bonds, including 5-year bonds (VND 1,500 billion), 10-year (VND 3,000 billion), 15-year (VND 3,000 billion), and 30-year (VND 750 billion). The winning value of 5-year, 10-year, 15-year, and 30-year bonds was VND 1,016 billion, VND 786 billion, VND 967 billion, and VND 550 billion.
The winning interest rate for both 10-year and 15-year tenors increased by 5 bps to 2.2% and 2.4%, respectively. Meanwhile, the winning rate for 5-year bonds decreased by 11 bps to 1.39%.

Year to date, the State Treasury issued VND 9,258 billion of Government bonds across various tenors from 5 to 30 years, completing about 7.29% of the Q1.2024 plan of VND 127,000 billion.
The winning value of 10 and 15-year bonds are the largest with VND 3,786 and VND 3,156 billion issued, respectively, accounting for about 75% of the total value issued since the beginning of 2024. 5-year bonds come in third with VND 1,766 billion.
