Government Bond Auction Result on May 02nd, 2024

On May 02nd, 2024, the State Treasury called for bidding a total of VND 10,000 billion of Government bonds, including 5-year bonds (VND 3,000 billion), 7-year (VND 500 billion), 10-year (VND 2,500 billion), 15-year (VND 3,000 billion), and 30-year (VND 1,000 billion). The 5-year bonds were sold out while the 7-year and 30-year ones were not sold. The winning rates of 10-year and 15-year bonds were 42% and 33%, respectively.
The winning interest rate for 5-year, 10-year, and 15-year tenors increased by 5 bps to 1.66%, 2.55%, and 2.73%, respectively.

Year to date, the State Treasury issued VND 108,035 billion of Government bonds across various tenors from 5 to 30 years, completing about 27% of the 2024 plan of VND 400,000 billion.
The winning value of 10 and 15-year bonds are the largest with VND 40,699 and VND 34,751 billion issued, respectively, accounting for about 69.8% of the total value since the beginning of 2024. 5-year bonds come in third with VND 26,750 billion.
Regarding the second quarter, VND 27,806 billion of Government bonds was issued, equivalent to 23.2% of the Q2 plan.
