The workshop was held in the afternoon of June 21 2019 with the participation of over 300 people.  There were 3 sessions in the workshop that were: (i) Web based Open Platform for Treasury (ii) the impact of Basel applying in the regions and in Vietnam (iii)  Market outlook from now until the end of 2019.

The first panel discussion on Web-based open platform for Treasury started with the presentation on Choosing the right Foreign Exchange solution in an ever changing landscape by Mr. Mr. Alexander Thorhauge, Head of E-Trading Client Services APAC- Saxo Markets. The panel discussion was about the solutions that Fintech Companies would provide to bank’s treasury.

The second panel discussion on Basel application in Vietnam and its impacts  started with the presentation of Mr. Hanseob Choi- Country Manager of  Murex on the Treasury system for and beyond Basel 2. During the panel discussion panelists  discussed about the impact of Basel applying in the regions and in Vietnam, the current policy of State Bank of Vietnam for Basel applying, next wave in Vietnam Financial Market related to Basel applying as well as how the impact of Basel applying to the trading of banks with its clients such as securities companies, fund management companies and insurance companies…....Also panelists shared about the difficulties that banks face during apply Basel 2. The second part of the workshop ended with a presentation on Enterprise Risk Management in the Basel Compliance World by Mr. Dimitrios Papanastasiou- Senior Director, Moody’s Analytics

The workshop ended with the Market Outlook session.  Mr. Nguyen Quang Minh- Director of Treasury Trading Department, VCB presented about the US-China Trade War and its impacts to Vietnam. Mr. Trinh Quynh Thanh- Deputy Head of Treasury, BIDV shared about Bond and Money Market Trend till the end of year 2019.

This workshop is one part of Interbank 2019 for experience sharing and exchanges to strengthen professionalism as well as effective cooperation amongst Vietnam’s financial market participants.
